The latest batch of opening round matches in the 2024 International Championship take place on Tuesday at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, as the contestants aim to reach the televised stages in China in November.

Several more top 16 stars are set for action on Tuesday, starting in the morning session with newly minted British Open champion Mark Selby who has a very intriguing round one tie against teenage rookie Artemijs Zizins from Lativa. Current Scottish and Welsh Open champion Gary Wilson is also on the early shift in Yorkshire.

In the afternoon, Shaun Murphy and Luca Brecel begin their campaigns, as does Tom Ford who was last year’s International Championship runner-up. Ford faces teenager Stan Moody in another interesting encounter; the two have already met twice before on the World Snooker Tour, with Ford coming out on top both times by a winning margin of a couple of frames.

The biggest star attraction in the evening session features recently crowned English Open champion Neil Robertson who plays Alfie Burden. Australia’s Robertson is a two-time International Championship runner-up.
