2024 International Championship Snooker: Full draw, results, format, prize money, schedule, how to watch

World Snooker Tour
The main venue and televised stages of the 2024 International Championship take place in Nanjing, China between November 3-10.

However, the majority of first round matches in the £825,000 World Snooker Tour ranking event will be played at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, England across three days between September 30 to October 2. The winners of these matches will then need to travel to the Far East to play their second round match several weeks later.

Open to all professional tour card holders, the 2024 International Championship features 128 players in a flat draw, meaning all entrants start out in the opening round. Four 'local' wildcards will also be in the draw.

As mentioned earlier, most of the opening round will be completed in Sheffield, but nine round one matches have been held over and will be contested at the main venue in November. These matches involve Zhang Anda (defending champion), Kyren Wilson (World Champion), Ronnie O'Sullivan (promoter's pick), Ding Junhui and Si Jiahui (two highest ranked Chinese players other than Zhang) and the four matches with the wildcards in. Held over round one matches are scheduled to be played on November 3rd.

The International Championship was held every season from 2012 to 2019, and it returned to the professional circuit in 2023 following cancellations due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. It has previously been held in Chengdu (2012-14), Daqing (2015-19) and Tianjin (2023). Nanjing will be a new host for the event.

A potted history on the International Championship is here; Zhang Anda is the defending champion having defeated Tom Ford 10-6 in last year's final to claim his maiden ranking event title. Zhang also compiled a maximum 147 break during the final.

Who is playing in the 2024 International Championship Snooker?

All of the world's top ranked players have entered the competition including the ones listed earlier who have their first round games held over.

World number one Judd Trump - a two-time winner of this tournament - is in, but will play his opening match against Chris Totten at Ponds Forge.

Mark Allen, Mark Selby, John Higgins, Ricky Walden - other former champions - are also in the draw.

What is the format for the 2024 International Championship?

The full format for the 2024 International Championship has yet to be released, although it has been confirmed that the round one matches will be the best of 11 frames.

The competition is likely to follow the same format it has always had with all matches up to and including the quarter-finals being the best of 11, the semis being the best of 17 (across two sessions) and the final being the best of 19 (across two sessions).
