2024 Wuhan Open Snooker: Monday's round two round-up from the Far East

Defending Wuhan Open champion Judd Trump remains on course to retain the title as he saw off last season's 'Rookie of the Year' He Guoqiang, 5-2.
He - who has defeated Ronnie O'Sullivan twice this season - began the contest in style with a 139 break in the opening frame. However, world number one Trump took five of the next six frames, a sequence highlighted by runs of 116 and 103 in frames either side of the mid-session interval.

Next up for Trump in the Far East is Anthony McGill who recovered from two down with three to play to oust Mostafa Dorgham. Egypt's number one Dorgham led 4-2, but McGill went on a three-frame burst with efforts of 101, 70 and 90 to progress.
World Champion Kyren Wilson remains undefeated in Chinese ranking events this season; winner of the Xi’an Grand Prix in August, Wilson has dropped just one frame in two matches in Wuhan, so far, as he whitewashed Aaron Hill, 5-0, with breaks of 72, 61, 111, 88 and 61.
Another big name in brilliant scoring form was home hero Ding Junhui who completed a hat-trick of centuries (111, 102, 130) during his 5-0 clean sweep of fellow countryman Xu Si, who was only allowed to deposit 25 points throughout the entire contest.
Former European Masters champion Fan Zhengyi struck a 102 to move 3-0 up on John Higgins, but 31-time ranking event winner Higgins took five of the next six frames - including the final three consecutively - to squeeze through, 5-4.

Shaun Murphy (105 break), Zhang Anda (124 break) and Si Jiahui were other top 16 stars to advance, but world number 10 Gary Wilson is out following a 5-1 dismissal by Ben Woollaston during the morning session.
The biggest comeback of the day was delivered by Zak Surety who overturned a 4-1 deficit to Robert Milkins into a 5-4 victory. Bizarrely, Surety made a break of exactly 74 in three consecutive frames.
The legendry Jimmy White posted the highest break, 97, of his match with Noppon Saengkham, but it was the Thai ace who progressed in the £700,000 ranking event with a 5-1 win.
Mark Joyce (132), Xiao Guodong (121) and Martin O’Donnell (107) all won their respective matches and made a three-figure contribution in the process. 2024.
