The prize is awarded to the player who earns the most cumulative prize money across all four Home Nations Series events this season. With the ongoing Welsh Open being the final piece of the jigsaw, the destiny of the bonus pot will be decided in Llandudno.
Even before the main venue stages at the Venue Cymru, several of the main contenders for the prize were removed from the conversation.

Scottish Open champion Lei Peifan, who was third in the standings, lost in qualifying, while fifth-placed Judd Trump and 11th-place Xiao Guodong did not enter.
Eighth-placed Barry Hawkins and 13th-placed Shaun Murphy were both defeated in round one on Tuesday morning, and there was carnage for those involved in the race during round two on Wednesday.
Despite battling back from 3-0 down and forcing a deciding frame, rankings leader Neil Robertson eventually lost 4-3 to Tom Ford. However, second-placed Kyren Wilson, fourth-placed Wu Yize, sixth-placed Mark Allen, seventh-placed Chris Wakelin and ninth-placed Ishpreet Singh Chadha all also lost on the same day.
This means that Robertson is still currently in pole position, as he finishes the Home Nations campaign with £124,000.

Only two players can now top the tree instead of him - Pang and Brecel - who both have to win the event to claim the number one spot.
Pang came into the tournament with £30,000, while 2023 World Champion Brecel had £24,000, hence why only the Ray Reardon Trophy will do for either player.
Should Brecel win the title this week, he would end up on the same prize money total as Robertson (£124,000), but would grab top spot by virtue of countback, with the most recent result from the Series taking precedence.
Another twist, though, is that Pang and Brecel face each in round three on Thursday night in North Wales, so by the close of play, only one of them can chase down Robertson.
