This will be the 13th ranking tournament of the 2024/25 World Snooker Tour season.

Cueists compete to lift the Ray Reardon Trophy - the first staging of this event since the six-time world champion's passing in 2024 - and pocket the £100,000 top prize.
On top of that, the destiny of this season's £150,000 BetVictor Home Nations bonus prize will be decided, as too will be the line-up for next month's World Grand Prix in Hong Kong, with this event being the last counting event towards qualification for that on the one-year list.
What is the format and schedule for the 2025 Welsh Open Snooker?
As for all the Home Nations Series events this season, the 2025 Welsh Open features a tiered format, meaning the top 32 seeds all went straight through to the main venue stages and the main draw.
Those seeds have been joined by the 32 players who came through the qualifying rounds held in Barnsley just a few days ago.
