2025 Welsh Open Snooker: Full draw, results, format, schedule, prize money, how to watch

World Snooker Tour
The 2025 Welsh Open takes place at the Venue Cymru in Llandudno between Monday 10th February to Sunday 16th January.

Professional snooker's third longest-running ranking event - only younger than the UK and World Championships - is the final leg of this season's four-pronged Home Nations Series.

This will be the 13th ranking tournament of the 2024/25 World Snooker Tour season.

Cueists compete to lift the Ray Reardon Trophy - the first staging of this event since the six-time world champion's passing in 2024 - and pocket the £100,000 top prize.

On top of that, the destiny of this season's £150,000 BetVictor Home Nations bonus prize will be decided, as too will be the line-up for next month's World Grand Prix in Hong Kong, with this event being the last counting event towards qualification for that on the one-year list.

What is the format and schedule for the 2025 Welsh Open Snooker?

As for all the Home Nations Series events this season, the 2025 Welsh Open features a tiered format, meaning the top 32 seeds all went straight through to the main venue stages and the main draw.

All rounds up to and including the last 16 are the best of 7 frames, the quarter-finals are the best of 9 frames, the semi-finals are the best of 11 frames, and the two-session final is the best of 17 frames.

Tournament schedule for the 2025 Welsh Open:

  • Monday 10th & Tuesday 11th: Round One (Last 64)
  • Wednesday 12th: Round Two (Last 32)
  • Thursday 13th: Round Three (Last 16)
  • Friday 14th: Quarter-Finals
  • Saturday 15th: Semi-Finals
  • Sunday 16th: Final

Who is playing at the 2025 Welsh Open Snooker?

A host of star names have entered the 2025 Welsh Open, including defending champion Gary Wilson, and reigning world champion and newly-minted German Masters champion Kyren Wilson.

At the time of writing, Ronnie O'Sullivan is in the draw, but his participation is doubtful.

Fresh from successfully defending the Championship League crown, Mark Selby is expected to be in Llandudno, as too is home hero Mark Williams, who was the last Welshman to win this event on home soil in 1999.

In-form Masters victor Shaun Murphy, former World Champion Luca Brecel, and former world number one Mark Allen are the other top 8 exponents in the schedule.

World number one Judd Trump elected to skip this competition, as too did fellow top 16 member Ding Junhui.

Along with Northern Ireland Open champion Kyren Wilson, English Open champion Neil Robertson, and runner-up in Brentwood and Edinburgh Wu Yize are the leading contenders for the £150k Home Nations bonus.
