By the end of Wednesday’s play at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, the last 16 line-up for the 2024 Northern Ireland Open will be known.

The 11 remaining round four matches will completed, starting with the morning session where 2023 World Champion Luca Brecel meets Pang Junxu on the main table.

It will be the third time this season that the two have met on the World Snooker Tour. Pang won both those ties; one in the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters and the other at the English Open.

Home hero and two-time champion Mark Allen is back in action during the early afternoon, as too is crowd favourite Jimmy White.

John Higgins - who has never won a professional title in Northern Ireland - and last year’s runner-up Chris Wakelin are both set for the baize in the second block of afternoon games.

Three World Champions - including the reigning one - are on the programme for Wednesday night.

Current Crucible King Kyren Wilson faces Anthony McGill in a head-to-head that will stir up memories of their epic semi-final encounter in Sheffield in 2020.

Neil Robertson and Mark Williams also continue their quest to lift The Alex Higgins Trophy later this week.
