It’s the round of 16 day at the 2024 Northern Ireland Open as we move closer to discovering who will lift The Alex Higgins Trophy and collect the £100,000 top prize later this week in Belfast.

There is an interesting mix of top 16 stars and lower ranked talents remaining at the Waterfront Hall following the first four days of action there.

Six winners of the World Championship are left in, and four are set to feature during the afternoon session.

In a repeat of the 2015 Crucible showpiece match, Stuart Bingham faces Shaun Murphy, and in the second block of afternoon matches current World Champion Kyren Wilson plays teenager Stan Moody, while Mark Williams is pitched with 21-year-old Ma Hailong.

Neil Robertson - aiming to become the first cueist to complete the Home Nations Series set - helps get the evening session underway against Oliver Lines, who was the conqueror of local hero Mark Allen in the last 32.

World number one and reigning Northern Ireland Open champion Judd Trump is scheduled to be last on the main table as he continues his quest to win this title for a record-extending fifth time. Trump has a very tricky assignment, though, as he attempts to navigate past Barry Hawkins - runner-up of this event’s inaugural staging in 2016.
