John Higgins defeated Judd Trump 5-0 in the final to win the 2024 Shijiazhuang Open Star Exhibition in China.

The four-player exhibition - which does not count as a professional event - was organised by the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA) prior to the latest open event on their domestic snooker tour.

Held at the Shijiazhuang International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the opening semi-final saw Higgins face Jimmy White.

White won two consecutive frames from 3-1 down to level, but Higgins won 5-3.

In the second semi-final, newly crowned Shanghai Masters snooker champion Trump defeated Mark Williams, 5-1.

The final was a one-sided affair, though, as Higgins compiled breaks of 64 (frame three) and 76 (frame four).

The first event on the CBSA Snooker China Tour - the Shijiazhuang Open - takes place at the same venue between July 24-28. Featuring 66 players, there is a total prize fund of 694,000 Chinese Yuan with 120,000 of that going to the champion.
