The Pink Ribbon Snooker Pro-Am helps raise awareness and money for breast cancer charities, with over £100,000 having been collected and donated since the tournament’s creation. The unique competition is open to both amateurs and professionals - pros give a 14 points head start per frame - with all contestants wearing a pink-coloured top to stay on brand.

First held in 2010 at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester, the concept was the brainchild of the host venue's owner Paul Mount, with the event held annually up to and including 2019.

Coinciding with the closure of the Academy, the Pink Ribbon sadly disappeared from the calendar for five years, but it was renewed in 2024 by Landywood SC owner Paul Lloyd.

Since its return, Oliver Lines (2024) - whose dad Peter won it a decade before - and Chris Wakelin (2025) have added their names to an impressive roll of honour that includes former world champions Ronnie O’Sullivan (2015) and Stuart Bingham (2012 and 2019). Bingham is the only multiple-time winner in the event’s history.

How Stan Moody won the 2026 Pink Ribbon Pro-Am title

This year’s edition once again featured an impressive line-up with ranking event winners Bingham, Ryan Day, Ricky Walden, Gary Wilson, and Jimmy Robertson joining defending champion and top 16 star Wakelin in the field.

The professional players were seeded through to the last 64 where they were joined by the amateurs who emerged from the qualifying rounds.

Current 41st in the world rankings, Moody began his campaign with a 4-2 win over Oliver Spooner before breaks of 79, 55 and 103 aided him to a 4-0 victory against fellow pro Sean O’Sullivan. The recent British Open quarter-finalist then registered runs of 138, 65, 63 and 100 in a 4-2 success over Simon Blackwell.

In the quarter-finals, Moody - like himself - faced another one of English snooker’s hottest young properties in Liam Pullen. The two grew up together on the junior and amateur circuit, faced each other in the 2023 World Snooker Federation Junior Championship final held in Australia, and both made their Crucible Theatre debuts earlier this year.

In what turned out to be a brilliant match, Moody took the opening frame of their latest encounter by one point after both cueists made a 56 break. Pullen responded with a 139 to level and then a 78 to go 2-1 up before Moody struck a 79 to restore parity.

Pullen went back in front courtesy of a 100, but Moody (63 break, frame six) forced the contest all the way where he won a dramatic deciding frame by clearing the six colours to take it on the final black ball.

In the semi-finals, Moody came through another close affair as he made 127, 65, and a 109 in the decider to oust Bingham, 4-3.

In his last 16 win over Mateusz Baranowski, Bingham completed a maximum 147 break. Throughout the tournament, 52 century breaks were racked up, including a 144 from Daniel Womersley, and a 141 from 17-year-old O'Shay Scott.

Moody faced former ranking event runner-up Mark Joyce in the final.

Winner of this Pink Ribbon crown in 2011, Joyce navigated the other side of the draw, eliminating Kaylan Patel (4-3), O. Lines (4-2), Walden (4-0) and David Grace (4-0) before ending the title reign of Wakelin (4-2) in the semi-finals.

Despite not currently holding a pro tour card, Joyce continued to play like a top-flight star as he began the final in style with breaks of 115 and 108 to establish a 2-0 lead.

However, Moody was not to be denied the championship, stringing together four consecutive frames - along with efforts of 97, 56, 52 and 92 - for a 4-2 verdict his way.
