2024 English Open Snooker: Quarter-Finals Preview, Matches, Order of Play

The opening match on the baize is defending champion and world number one Judd Trump, who has been nowhere near his best in this tournament, yet still managed to find a way through.
Trump faces Chinese 20-year-old Wu Yize, just a couple of weeks on from their head-to-head at the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters in Riyadh. On that occasion, Trump - in his first match of the event - recovered from 4-0 down to deny Wu, 5-4. Later in the week, the Englishman won the title and a £500,000 winner’s purse.

The last two winners of the Snooker Shoot Out - Mark Allen and Chris Wakelin - are set to meet in the second encounter of the afternoon session. Both players came through deciding frame climaxes on Thursday night in the last 16; Wakelin doing so from 3-0 down.
Ishpreet Singh Chadha is having the week of his professional snooker life having already navigated five rounds to become the first Indian player to reach a ranking event quarter-final in 11 years.
Chadha comes up against Mark Selby in what will be their first duel on snooker’s top tier.
The evening session’s other match is between two quality operators looking to get back into the world’s top 16 - Neil Robertson and Barry Hawkins.
