2024 English Open Snooker Information: Full draw, results, format, prize money, schedule, how to watch

World Snooker Tour
Following the inaugural Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters in the Middle East, professional snooker returns to the United Kingdom with the 2024 English Open taking place at the Brentwood Centre between September 12th to 22nd.

The English Open is the fourth ranking event of the 2024/25 World Snooker Tour season. This year’s tournament will be its ninth annual edition; it was first held in Manchester in 2016 and has been played every season since.

Carrying an increased total prize fund of over £550,000, the eventual champion will pocket £100,000 - this top prize is up £20,000 from last year.

This season's Home Nations Series events - the English, Northern Ireland, Scottish, and Welsh Opens - have been revamped, with a change to a tiered draw, boosted prize money, and a £150,000 bonus prize for the player who earns the most cumulative money across the four events. The English Open is the opening leg of this season's Series. For a more detailed analysis of the changes, please visit our article here.

All professional tour card holders are eligible to enter the English Open (and all Home Nations Series events). A total of 128 players are set to feature in 2024 English Open, this includes the entered professionals, two amateur wildcards as selected by England's governing body for snooker, and Q School top-up players who been invited to fill the 128 spaces.

The tiered draw system means those seeded 33 and lower will compete at some point during the opening two rounds of the event (12th-14th September), and the top 32 seeds enter the competition in round three (last 64) which begins on Monday 16th September; this is also when the live televised stages start. All matches throughout the event will be played at the Brentwood Centre.

Who is playing at the 2024 English Open Snooker?

A star cast is expected to play at the 2024 English Open in Brentwood, with all of the world's top 32 ranked players - except for Ding Junhui who has elected not to enter - in the draw.

This includes defending champion Judd Trump, who is fresh from dramatically winning the first Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters in Riyadh last week.

Seven-time World Champion and former English Open Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan is scheduled to be in Brentwood, as too is current World Champion Kyren Wilson.
