Whilst the World Snooker Tour was taking a short break from professional competitive action over the Christmas and New Year period, there were two lucrative exhibition events being held in the Far East. Last week, there was a star-studded line-up at the Macau Snooker Masters.
The events in both Macau and Hangzhou featured a series of pre-determined matches instead of an actual competition, with some players involved in more fixtures than others.

In China, Ronnie O’Sullivan defeated both Ding Junhui and John Higgins by 5-1 scorelines, making a century break in each match.
Seven-time World Champion O'Sullivan - who will be defending the Masters crown later this month at the Alexandra Palace in London - finishes his latest exhibition stint in Asia with a 100% success rate having won seven out of seven matches.
Elsewhere at the Snooker Superstar Invitational, two maximum 147 breaks were made in consecutive sessions on the third and final day.
Xiao Guodong delighted his home support as he achieved snooker perfection with a 147 break when wrapping up a 5-3 win over Mark Williams in a repeat of the Champion of Champions final from a few weeks ago.

World number one Judd Trump was the other cueist to strike a maximum 147 break; during the fifth frame of his tie with Ding Junhui. The feat put Trump 4-1 up, but Ding won the next four frames - highlighted by runs of 108 and 113 - to score a 5-4 comeback win.
The opening match of the exhibition event saw Higgins defeat Williams 5-3 in another 'Class of 92' derby, and the other result witnessed Trump ousting good friend Jack Lisowski on the final black ball in a deciding frame.
