The World Seniors Snooker Tour’s blue riband event returns to the Crucible Theatre. Will reigning champion Jimmy White retain the title?

A cosmopolitan field of 16 players will line up for the upcoming 2024 World Seniors Snooker Championship that takes place at the Crucible Theatre between May 8-12.

The annual spectacle at the home of the sport is the premier prize on the World Seniors Snooker Tour. Reigning champion Jimmy White will be aiming for a record-extending fifth world seniors crown.

Cueists representing seven different countries and four different continents are set to feature in Sheffield, having made it to the hallowed arena by either winning a qualifying event/international tournament or via an invite due to their achievements within the sport.

What is the format?

  • Last 16: best of 5 frames
  • Quarter-finals: best of 5 frames
  • Semi-finals: best of 7 frames
  • Final: best of 9 frames

The tournament is a straight knockout event.

A 30-second shotclock will be in operation throughout the entire tournament.

2024 World Seniors Championship Prize Money

Sponsored by online gambling brand Mr. Vegas, the 2024 World Seniors Snooker Championship has a £50,000 prize fund, with £20,000 of that going to the champion.

It is also anticipated that the winner of the event will be invited to the 2024 Champion of Champions professional invitational later in the year.

There will be live coverage throughout the 2024 World Seniors Snooker Championship provided by UK television station Channel 5.
