Neil Robertson overtakes Ronnie O'Sullivan at the top of Players Series most titles list

Robertson whitewashed Stuart Bingham 10-0 in the final of the 2025 World Grand Prix which was held at the newly-opened Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong. It was the first time since 1989 that the Far East city had hosted a ranking competition.
This latest career triumph put 43-year-old Robertson into outright seventh on the all-time list of most decorated ranking event winners, pushing him clear of Mark Selby (who has 24) and one behind Mark Williams who is in sixth with 26 titles.

One-fifth of all Robertson's ranking event titles have now come from the lucrative three-pronged Players Series. His trophy lift last Sunday means he is the most successful cueist in Players Series history; with five titles to his name, he goes top of that particular list, clear of Ronnie O'Sullivan with whom he shared the number one spot going into the Hong Kong-based tournament.
What is the Players Series on the professional snooker tour?
The Players Series consists of three ranking events - the World Grand Prix, Players Championship, and Tour Championship - with the concept first introduced to the professional circuit for the 2018/19 season.
The World Grand Prix and Players Championship were already established competitions on the circuit, but the inaugural Tour Championship was held in 2019 - the same 2018/19 campaign that the three events were collectively pulled together under the 'Players Series' banner.
All three Players Series events are unique as the only way players can qualify for them is via the one-year ranking list - cumulative prize money won at ranking tournaments throughout the same season. This is the sole qualification route; the two-year world rankings don't come into it, and there have been several examples of a reigning champion failing to qualify and being able to defend their title.

The three tournaments are always held in the same order. The World Grand Prix is first and features the top 32 players from the one-year list. Second is the 16-player Players Championship and last is the 12-player Tour Championship (from 2024, the field for the event went from 8 to 12).
Who has won the most Players Series events on the World Snooker Tour?
At the time of writing - following the 2025 World Grand Prix - a total of 19 Players Series events have been completed, but only eight different players have won at least one title.
After his exploits at the Kai Tak, Robertson leads the way with five titles. He has won two World Grand Prix titles (2020, 2025), one Players Championship (2022) and two Tour Championships (2021, 2022).
O'Sullivan's four Players Series titles consist of: World Grand Prix (x2), Players Championship (x1) and Tour Championship (x1).

Judd Trump (3), Shaun Murphy (2) and Mark Allen (2) are the other players with multiple Players Series titles on their career CVs, while Stephen Maguire, John Higgins and Mark Williams each have one title.
No player has yet to win all three Players Series titles within the same season, although both O'Sullivan and Robertson have completed the Players Series career set (winning all three titles at least once). O'Sullivan achieved this first with his 2022 World Grand Prix success in Coventry, England.
Robertson has the opportunity to go further clear on the all-time list as he has qualified for the 2025 Players Championship that takes place at the Telford International Centre, England between March 17-23.
Please note, the above stats do not include title wins when the World Grand Prix and Players Championship were standalone events before the creation of the Players Series in the 2018/19 season.
