Judd Trump is nearly two-thirds of the way to unlocking and claiming a £100,000 bonus prize on this season’s World Snooker Tour following his Group 6 victory at the ongoing 2025 Championship League Snooker Invitational.

World number one Trump has bounced back from his semi-final defeat to Kyren Wilson at the Masters last week by playing some beautiful snooker over the past few days at the behind-closed-doors event at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.

Earlier in the week, the 35-year-old Englishman finished top of Group 5 and made the playoff final, although he was defeated 3-0 by an inspired Matthew Selt. However, across Wednesday and Thursday in Group 6, Trump finished second in the regular standings to once again qualify for the playoffs where he reached his second consecutive group final and this time came out on top with a dazzling 3-0 victory over Joe O’Connor.

In that final, Trump registered three century breaks in successive frames - 113, 103 and 101 - to become the latest player to book a spot in February’s tournament-concluding Winners’ Group where he is set to join previous group winners Hossein Vafaei, Si Jiahui, Kyren Wilson, Mark Selby, Selt, and the upcoming Group 7 playoff winner.

Across both groups this week, Trump has made 16 century breaks - eight in each group - which pushes his seasonal tally of tons on to 65.

As well as aiming for the fourth Championship League title of his career, ‘The Ace in the Pack’ has also been focused this week on scooping another prize, with the first player to compile 100 century breaks within this professional season to trouser a £100,000 bonus.

Trump is 35 more centuries away from reaching this milestone and collecting the kitty, with only one other player on this season’s circuit having passed the 50 mark, so far. The flurry of century breaks he has registered this week has definitely put Trump back on track of achieving this feat.

There are several events remaining this season, including two exclusively multi-session ones - the Tour Championship and World Championship - so there appears plenty of scope for Trump to hit three figures before the 2024/25 campaign ends for him.

This accolade is not new to Trump, who totted up 102 century breaks during the 2019/20 season. Neil Robertson was the first player in professional snooker history to strike 100 100s in a term when he did so in 2013/14; these are the only two times this feat has been realised, although a bonus prize was not attached back then - this is the first season that it has been applied.

It has already been a world record-breaking season for Trump, who surpassed the most amount of prize money ever won by a player in a single season with his last four run at the Masters in London.

Elsewhere at the Championship League this week, Jak Jones has now made 32 century breaks during the tournament. He has smashed the record for the most centuries made by one player in a single professional event, and he has the opportunity to swell that figure even more as he is in Group 7 which takes place on Friday and Saturday.

The Welshman’s overall century count for the season is 51 - only Trump has made more.
