2024 Xi'an Grand Prix Snooker: Judd Trump wins and keeps up 100% seasonal record
World number two Trump - who celebrated his 35th birthday earlier this week - only registered a highest break of 52 during the contest, but he created a comfortable passage through and gained some revenge for his shock defeat to Jones at the last eight of the most recent World Championship.
Crucible finalist Jones compiled a break of 136 in the frame he won (frame three).

Winner of last month’s Shanghai Masters, Trump continues his 100% winning streak for this season; he is now eight from eight in this 2024/25 term.
As well as his invitational triumph in Shanghai, within the past 12 months Trump has also claimed ranking titles in China at the Wuhan Open and the World Open. Trump has now won 22 of his last 23 professional matches in the country.
Trump will face either Mark Selby or David Gilbert on Friday.
Mark Williams and Mark Allen are both defeated
Elsewhere during the afternoon session at the Xi’an Qujiang E-sports Centre, two big title contenders were eliminated from the competition.

World number one Mark Allen bowed out as Barry Hawkins defeated him 5-3.
From 3-0 down, Allen chalked up three of the next four frames - including a run of 104 in frame seven - but Hawkins took the eighth to go through.
Hawkins is a four-time ranking event champion, although he is yet to win one in Asia.
Three-time world champion Mark Williams was ousted by world number 58 Xu Si in a deciding frame.

Williams totted up breaks of 96, 70 and 86 on his way to a 4-2 lead, but Chinese cueist Xu strung together the final three frames, featuring runs of 77 in frame eight and 109 in the decider to complete one of the best wins of his career.
The 26-year-old reaches his second ranking event quarter-final; his career best is a semi-final appearance at the 2017 Indian Open.
Xu has won all four of his matches in this tournament, 5-4.
Matthew Selt was the final player to taste victory during the session as he pipped 17-year-old rookie Gong Chenzhi, 5-4.
World number 37 Selt - winner of the last Indian Open in 2019 - recovered from 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 down.
