Wuhan Open Snooker: Information and a Potted History
A ranking event, the competition counts towards qualification for Players Series events and is open to all professional tour card holders.
Judd Trump won the first Wuhan Open after defeating Ali Carter 10-7 in the final. Trump initially led the title match 4-1 before Carter claimed four successive frames to lead 5-4 at the end of the first session. However, Trump took six of the next eight frames in the evening session for glory and a £140,000 payday.

En route to the final, Trump lost just six frames in six matches.
Trump's Wuhan triumph represented back-to-back ranking titles having secured a comeback victory at the English Open final the week before.
In 2024, Xiao Guodong claimed his maiden ranking event title at the Wuhan Open when he defeated fellow Chinese cueist Si Jiahui, 10-7, in the final. It was only the third time in professional snooker history that a ranking event final was contested by two players from mainland China.
In the semi-finals, Si compiled the first maximum 147 break in Wuhan Open snooker history during a 6-2 victory against defending champion Trump. It was the first time that Si had struck perfection on the professional tour.
