2025 World Open Snooker Qualifying: Draw, results and daily match schedule

World Snooker Tour
A plethora of star names including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Kyren Wilson and defending champion Judd Trump have entered the 2025 World Open which will hold its main venue rounds in Yushan, China between February 23rd to March 1st.

One of most lucrative ranking tournaments on the World Snooker Tour - carrying a top prize of £175,000 - 128 players are set to feature in a flat draw format, meaning all contestants start out in the opening round.

Although the televised and main venue stages are once again held in the Far East, the majority of opening round matches will be played at Ponds Forge in Sheffield between December 20th-22nd - the final offering of professional snooker action in 2024. The winners of these matches can then make travel plans for China several weeks later.

A total of nine first round matches will be held over to the main venue, with the players involved in these ties excused the trip to Sheffield. These games involve Trump, Wilson, O'Sullivan, Ding Junhui and Zhang Anda, and the four fixtures with the local amateur wildcards in them.

However, several top 16 stars will still be at Ponds Forge for their opening assignment of the £825,000 competition, including Mark Selby, Mark Allen, Mark Williams, Luca Brecel and Shaun Murphy. It will be a busy time for these players, as they are also due to be at the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship in Saudi Arabia between December 18-20.

This current iteration of the World Open in China was first held on the professional circuit in 2012. Trump has won the last two editions of the event and is currently on a 14-match winning streak in it.
