A host of star names including world number one Judd Trump, reigning world champion Kyren Wilson and seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan are set to play in the 2024 Macau Snooker Masters exhibition event at the end of the year.

Returning for a second edition, the nine-player tournament - which is not part of the professional World Snooker Tour - is organised by Wynn Resort and supported by the Macau Government Tourism Office and Sports Bureau. It is scheduled to take place at the Wynn Palace between December 25-28.

Last year's inaugural staging was also played across the Christmas period, with Mark Williams defeating Jack Lisowski 9-6 in the final. Earlier in the match, Lisowski made a maximum 147 break.

As well as Trump, Wilson and O'Sullivan, the other players competing in the event are Lisowski, Jak Jones, Ding Junhui, Marco Fu, Stuart Bingham and Si Jiahui.

This showcase was officially announced during a press conference on Thursday 31st October, with O'Sullivan present for the launch in the Far East. During the conference, O'Sullivan was named as the 'Wynn Brand Ambassador' with the Wynn brand and Macau region stating its commitment to hosting "premier international sporting events."

According to an article on the website macaubusiness.com, there will be a new playing format for the 2024 event.

Last year, the programme was an eight-player straight knockout, although according to today's online article, it suggests that O'Sullivan will be playing in all but one of seven scheduled best-of-seven frames matches.

It is set to be a very busy end of the year for several of snooker's top stars. On the official professional circuit, in November and December there is the International Championship, Champion of Champions, UK Championship, Snooker Shoot Out, Scottish Open and the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship all before Christmas.
