2024 British Open Snooker: Full draw, results, format, prize money, schedule, how to watch

World Snooker Tour
The main venue stages of the 2024 British Open professional snooker event take place at The Centaur Arena within the Cheltenham Racecourse, England between September 23rd to 29th.

Carrying a prize fund of £500,000 – with £100,000 going to the eventual champion – the 2024 British Open will be the fifth ranking event of the 2024/25 World Snooker Tour season, coming immediately after the conclusion of the 2024 English Open in Brentwood that was won by Neil Robertson.

The British Open has a proud and decorated history. Initially held every season between 1985 to 2004, the tournament was resurrected in 2021 and once again enjoys a regular slot on the professional circuit. Cueists compete for The Clive Everton Trophy – named in honour of the great snooker journalist, commentator and broadcaster.

All professional tour card holders were eligible to enter the 2024 British Open. The competition began with 128 entries.

A flat draw is used for the event, meaning all players – regardless of their world ranking position – begin in the opening round and have to win seven matches for the title.

The British Open is unique as it uses a random 'FA Cup-style' draw for each round. There is no ranking protection; anyone can draw anyone.

Whilst the main, televised stages of the 2024 British Open take place in September, the majority of round one matches were completed at the Mattioli Arena, Leicester between July 31st to August 3rd. All results are below.

However, all the top 16 seeds have had their round one matches held over to the main venue in Cheltenham.

Who is playing at the 2024 British Open Snooker?

All of snooker's top ranked stars are scheduled to be in Cheltenham for the 2024 British Open, including the entire world's top 16*.

Current World Champion Kyren Wilson, and World Number One Judd Trump are set to feature on the opening day on Monday 23rd September.

Defending British Open Champion Mark Williams – who has won this title three times in total – will break off the action in the opening session on the same day.

Newly minted English Open Champion Neil Robertson is already through to round two where he is set to play Chris Totten.

* Ronnie O’Sullivan entered the event but he subsequently withdrew. O’Sullivan was replaced by amateur player Lewis Ullah.
