Professional Snooker Rankings Update: Jackson Page breaks into the top 40
Whilst the behind-closed-doors curtain-raiser may carry relatively 'modest' prize money, it does hold ranking status, therefore earnings from the event have an impact on both the world and one-year ranking lists.
Carter collected £33,000 for his efforts in Leicester; he remains 10th in the world rankings but is now only a few thousand behind ninth placed Mark Williams.

In fact, no-one inside the top 26 moved at all, with new world number one Mark Allen - who did not enter - staying on top and John Higgins - who lost in stage one - preserving his top 16, but only just in 16th.
There are a few very small changes near the top 32 mark, but one of the most significant moves is for Welshman Jackson Page who breaks into the top 40 for the first time in his career at 39th (up 6 places).
The 22-year-old reached the final of the Championship League, his maiden ranking event final appearance. It has been an exciting few months for Page, who got past the last 16 of a ranking event for the first time when he made the semi-finals of the World Open in Yushan in March before a few weeks later qualifying for his second Crucible.
The two biggest movers inside the top 64 are Martin O'Donnell and David Lilley, who both reached Finals Day at the Mattioli Arena.

O'Donnell fell off the pro tour in 2022 but returned last season when he enjoyed a brilliant comeback campaign, reaching his maiden ranking event final at the Welsh Open and breaking into the top 64 within just one season - a superb feat. He goes up 10 places to 53rd.
Lilley advances from 64th to 57th.
Please note, at the time of writing, the World Snooker Tour have yet to officially publish the updated rankings following the Championship League. Data above has been interpreted from snooker.org - a highly-respected source of snooker data and information. See their unofficial list here.
