Crucible finalists Kyren Wilson and Jak Jones set for big-stage rematch in Berlin

Wilson realised a dream by winning snooker's blue riband event in Sheffield last May when he denied a rallying Jones 18-14 in the title match.
Since then, World Champion Wilson has collected a further two ranking titles this season, as for Jones, he hasn't really kicked on as much as he would have liked, although there have been some highlights, especially in recent weeks when he set a new world record for century breaks at the Championship League.

Both players have been at the Tempodrom in Berlin this week competing in the 2025 German Masters and - following a brace of victories for each player - Wilson and Jones are set to clash in the last 16 on Thursday.
Wilson has shown no ill-effects of losing the Masters final a few weeks ago at the Alexandra Palace in London. The 2019 German Masters champion began his campaign this week with a 5-3 victory over professional rookie Ka Wai Cheung (Hong Kong). An entertaining and high-quality affair, Wilson registered breaks of 131 and 100, while Hong Kong youngster Ka also impressed with a run of 107.
In the last 32, Wilson played on the main match table again and - just like in his opening fixture - he capped a 5-3 win with exactly an effort of 100.
World number 18 Jones is aiming for a strong few months in order to get back into the world's elite top 16 and avoid having to qualify for the World Championship. He too has recorded two 5-3 successes in the German capital - against Allan Taylor, and then John Higgins (made a 106 break in the latter tie).

That was Jones' first win over Higgins in professional competition. In their previous three meetings on the sport's top tier, Higgins took them all with a frame aggregate of 17-5.
Although it won't be their first encounter since starring in snooker's biggest fixture several months ago - they recently played in the behind-closed-doors Championship League invitational - it is the first time they have shared the baize on a big stage, on television, in front of a live audience.
Elsewhere during the opening sessions of round two (last 32), defending champion and world number one Judd Trump was in brilliant form as he made breaks of 77, 76, 75, 80 and 100 in a 5-0 whitewash over Joe O'Connor.
World number 11 Ali Carter was on the wrong side of a 5-0 clean sweep as Switzerland's Alexander Ursenbacher recorded one of his most notable victories on tour to make the last 16 of a ranking event for the time in nearly four years.

Top 16 stars Zhang Anda and Barry Hawkins advanced, while Xiao Guodong ousted Chinese compatriot Si Jiahui 5-4 in a thrilling finish.
Youngster Wu Yize won the final three frames (133 break in frame eight) as he pipped Mark Allen, 5-4.
Neil Robertson hit four century breaks, but needed a deciding frame to deny Hammad Miah, 5-4, to set up a tasty round three tie with Trump. The Australian recovered from 4-2 down.
