The seven-time world champion enjoyed a brilliant term in 2023/24 - even by his own standards - collecting five titles and over £1.2 million in prize money alone. O'Sullivan tasted ranking title success at the UK Championship and World Grand Prix, and invitational glory at the Shanghai Masters, Masters and Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker.

At the curtain-raising Championship League in Leicester, O'Sullivan was eliminated in stage one after finishing third in his group. From his three matches, he won (3-0 v Kayden Brierley), drew (2-2 Mitchell Mann) and lost (3-0 He Guoqiang). He picked up £1,000 for his efforts that day.
A few weeks later, O'Sullivan travelled to China to defend the Shanghai Masters title.
Winner of each of the last four editions of the lucrative invitational, O'Sullivan defeated teenage wildcard Zhou Jinhao 6-1 in the last 16 before compiling a break of 131 during a 6-3 success over Ding Junhui in the semi-finals.
However, O'Sullivan's incredible 21-match winning streak in the Shanghai Masters was broken by eventual champion Judd Trump, who ended his reign 10-3 in the semi-finals.

At the inaugural Xi’an Grand Prix - a £850,000 ranking event - O’Sullivan dropped just three frames in four matches as he coasted to the quarter-finals where he ousted Matthew Selt, 5-4. However, despite rallying from 5-1 down, O’Sullivan bowed out to World Champion Kyren Wilson in the semi-finals.
In the Middle East for the inaugural Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters, O’Sullivan defeated Lei Peifan 5-1 in his first match before coming back from 3-0 down to deny Zhang Anda 6-5 in the last 16. However, his journey in Riyadh came to an end in the quarter-finals as he bowed out to Si Jiahui, 6-4.
